Pizza´s history started with the Egyptians; historians believe that they were the first to mix water and flour. In the beginning, only herbs and olive oil were added in the dough . Italians were the first to introduce tomato.
Pizza was considered a food for poor people in the south of Italy especially in Napoli that is consider birthplace.
In Brazil, pizza came with the Italian immigrants in the beginning of the XIX century , and today we can find it in all the country. Today pizza (has) is part of the Brazilian culture and there are many pizzerias especially in São Paulo and every day a new one opens.
Today there are many types of pizza and they (always) are always creating a new one, but there is a traditional type of pizza like Margherita, Napolitana and Mozzarella.
Since 1985, the day of pizza/pizza day is commemorated on July 10th.
this picture makes me hungry; pepperoni is my favorite. I think I'll buy some pepperoni tomorrow!
