The Simpsons

The Simpsons is a very popular TV program created by Matt Groening for FOX and they have been on TV since 1989. They are a typical working-class American family. They live in the city of Springfield where the stories happen. They are a family with five people, which are:

Homer, the family´s dad, he is security overseer in a nuclear plant; He is an idiot, loves to drink beer and eat fat food, especially donuts;

Margie, Homer´s wife, She is the only normal person of the family; She likes to take care of her family;

Bart, The oldest son, He is a bad boy, always gets into trouble and is a bad student;

Liza, The middle daughter, She is very intelligent, the best student of Springfield Elementary School and she loves to play the Saxophone;

Maggie, The baby, She is sweet and very smart, doesn´t speak but she can be very dangerous.

There are a lot of other characters that are important for the stories and very funny too, like a Principal´s School Skinner, neighbor Flanders, Krusty the clown and many others.

PIZZA

Pizza´s history started with the Egyptians; historians believe that they were the first to mix water and flour. In the beginning, only herbs and olive oil were added in the dough . Italians were the first to introduce tomato.

Pizza was considered a food for poor people in the south of Italy especially in Napoli that is consider birthplace.

In Brazil, pizza came with the Italian immigrants in the beginning of the XIX century , and today we can find it in all the country. Today pizza (has) is part of the Brazilian culture and  there are many pizzerias especially in São Paulo and every day a new one opens.

Today  there are many types of pizza and they (always) are always creating a new one, but there is a traditional type of pizza like Margherita, Napolitana and Mozzarella.

Since 1985, the day of pizza/pizza day is commemorated on July 10th.
